@msh See that line of thought makes sense to me too! But I keep seeing articles saying that more than one can cause issues, but I don't really know if that applies to my use case, where the content is clearly intended to be multiple pages on one page... I know I'd ideally have multiple pages, but this is for a sort of backup situation where the whole site is on a single page for when JavaScript can't run.

What if desktop Fediverse client + server. You run the app and that's your single-user server. You can post and read from there and all you need to do is forward the right port and get a domain/subdomain! Could be something. I loved Beaker Browser so much for initially having this concept behind it, and I want it so bad again. Your home computer is your server and if you're offline, you're inaccessible til you come back on.Idunno, maybe it wouldn't work, but that's what I want. Bring back the MSN messenger feeling from middle and high school but with more Web 1.0 MySpace/geocities. Or something. I don't even know anymore lol

@stevelord The operating system would be the only thing to make me hesitate on something like this. My very first personal laptop was a netbook with a 9" screen and the very best OS I tested on it was the now defunct Moblin, and I'd kill for something like that again https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moblin

@msh Were you eventually able to get GNOME 3 comparable to Moblin? The switch to Meego kinda killed it for me, and I'd love to see possible modern setups similar to the old Moblin/Meego!

In light of cybre.space's impending doom, I'm investigating (lightweight) #ActivityPub servers to run on my (shared) web host ideally that I can use with @tootapp (not a dealbreaker if I can't). Any assistance, insight, and/or recommendations anyone might provide would be greatly appreciated! :boost_ok: ## RequirementsI am able to run #PHP, #NodeJS, #Ruby, and #Python apps, but I'd prefer PHP or Node apps because I know those languages. I have access to MySQL for databases, 1GB of RAM to work with, and ~20GB of storage space total (not a dealbreaker, I can get more).In addition to this, I need something that's 1) low maintenance, 2) easy to manage, 3) fairly reliable, and 4) storage-friendly.## Nice-to-haveSingle-user servers intrigue me, so I'd love to use one of those if possible. I love Misskey's emoji reactions, but I hear Misskey is a heavy mess of an app and the single-user Dolphin fork appears to be dead now. Yikes, looking through the options on fediverse.party doesn't make me feel very confident that I'll actually be able to use my web host for something like this... It's just too underpowered.I'll still hold out hope for a little while though!

Friendica looks promising... The requirements are fairly similar to your average WordPress install, so if just might work! I'm uploading the files now, and we'll see if it works when it's all up there!
