i've mentioned that GNOME Web nightly "feels" way better to use than Web 46, but, here's some actual numbers to put to that feeling. all benchmarks were run with the window maximized on a 1440p monitorWeb 46 vs Web nightly (47 beta) vs Firefox#GNOME #WebKit #WebKitGTK #GnomeWeb

to be fair, here's the Chromium result, too. and yes, Chromium does also feel best to use vs Web and Firefox, but imo Web 47 and Firefox are more than good enough for my day-to-day usage

i went ahead and made a Bluesky account because of friends using itmy plan atm is to rarely, if ever, actually post to it but instead use it as a "btw I'm mostly active on Mastodon" kind of thinganyway I'll probably also be (loosely) critiquing it on things that stand outsuch as: Bluesky, implement proper 2FA ffs

i'm also convinced that people saying "Mastodon is confusing" have to be lyinglet's say you start from joinmastodon.org: they have "Join Mastodon.social" as the default if you don't want to worry or learn about instances. and then a fairly basic sign-up process follows. maybe one extra click vs Bluesky. yeah, *really* confusing /sand then the Mastodon app is just as simple. again, mastodon.social provided as the defaultjust like "bsky.social" is the default domain when using Bluesky

I picked up my 8bitdo Ultimate for the first time since getting my Steam Deck a month agoamazing how much better the Deck feels to hold than the Ultimate. The latter almost feels like a toy in comparisonthe DualSense holds up a lot better vs the Deck, but man I want a Steam Controller 2/Deck Controller even more now

@BrodieOnLinux I had tried it on-and-off during my distro-hopping days, then I was maining elementary OS for about a year well before they had their Wayland session, then I switched to Fedora (and Silverblue soon after) when GNOME 40 came around and Wayland was already good enough for my needs at the time, so it stuck

most of my hype is for the new Steam Controller and the Steam Frame, but I'd be so tempted for the new Steam Machine too if I didn't already have my much more powerful console PCand I will forever appreciate this from Valve:

@killyourfm I like to call them "console PCs", myself. Like a console, but it's also a PC; best of both worlds.Very happy to see the return of L4E too!

@shironeko @killyourfm imo, mini PC is more specifically about the size. "console PC" is more about the use case; console-like experience by default but with a desktop mode like a traditional PC
