Sometimes when I help replacing the old drives from old machines, I will install Google Chrome (I have to - I used to install something else - it's both Firefox and Edge, but in the end, Google Chrome managed to be installed later) - with uBlock Origin.Manifest V3 could potentially, who knows, serve malware and accidentally installed by unsuspecting people...

Beeper Mini reminds me of early WhatsApp (now part of Meta) boom. Yes, you did need to pay the app once (was $US1), and then pay the yearly subscription fee (about $US1 too). I have to use it through a Windows Phone, since the original developers took a pity on Windows Phone users, I never have to pay for it. This was about 10 years ago.
