@lynnesbian one thing I like about Mastodon is that because toots are chronological I saw all the horrified responses to this post before the post itself which has a nice emotional build up/suspense element to it.

@DissidentKitty this is a good take but I think any discussion about voting as a political strategy in the US needs to start and end with the fact that we have a specifically undemocratic and corrupt system. Voting is ineffective specifically because the system values winners over consensus, disenfranchises poor people and people of color, essentially has legal avenues of bribery, and is designed to be undemocratic and overrule the will of the masses in favor or the ruling classes.
