@nucleus@satania.social yeah we’re on the latest :/ the annoying thing to me is on my desktop the UI lags anytime I try to type a note + sever disconnect notifications :|Been waiting for a new version, but they don’t release super often.

Started writing tooling for a Misskey -> Mastodon migration last night. Still doesn't seem all that difficult. Most annoying part was getting an easy local development setup w/ docker-compose and traefik. Now I have a one-command spin up for a local Misskey and Mastodon though!Hoping I can make some progress on my flight back home tomorrow 👀

so one issue is probably that misskey uses string IDs while mastodon uses ints, which means remote instances will link to invalid notes (the IDs will be changed as we import to be random ints)We can't really do much about that tho :/

and that type of change seems problematic, I think the fact that misskey uses it's own ID type kinda prevents anyone from being able to do a seamless migration

trying to figure out if there's a way for me to tell other servers that a user's ID has changed, that'd make this work. ActivityPub docs.... aren't great, also a lot is left up to the client :/I mostly need to do that to recreate this instance on satania.social w/ mastodon to begin with (I think?) to prevent things from freaking out.

It'd be very shitty experience for people trying to load notes from the past on a remote instance though.The DB stores the post URL which would 404 on open/reply/retweet/react.
