Overhearing a woman whose wallet/phone were stolen, on the phone with Visa and the bank for over 30 minutes asking permission to get back access to her cards, home banking, being able to pay installments...Another reminder of how retarded and bureaucratic the fiat system is

One of my main goals with zap.store is to help raise the quality bar of open source software. Most FOSS is basically driven by programmers' passion – but on average programmers suck at UX.We need better incentives for more professionals other than programmers (designers, product people, psychologists) to join open source projects and turn them into real competition to traditional high-quality closed-source applications.

A bit confused with URIs. Each time I generate a new one for the same name (nsec), it returns a different pubkey. So when I log in with nostrudel Nostr Connect, I see every time in the UI I'm using a different npub

@0461fcbe knox is greatJust having an issue with AggregateError: All promises were rejected Error: rate-limited: you are noting too much at NRelay1.event (https://jsr.io/@nostrify/nostrify/0.36.1/NRelay1.ts:165:13)But I just used twice. Where does the rate limiting come from and how can I disable it?

Thanks. I had to use a public instance, could you make Knox support ws:// so it can be run on a local relay without a certificate?

Actually, it would be great to completely bypass NIP-46 and relays and ask Knox directly to sign an event (given an authorization token)My usecase is having Knox run as daemon in a server without pasting the nsec in a file. Then have other local services request signatures, and it needs to be fast.

Another feature request! Allow passing the passphrase (for `knox start` at least) via env var. This way I can manage the service with systemctl like all my other services. It should be possible to prompt for password when starting using systemd-ask-password

This sounds much more like what I need. However, I liked the idea of having a NIP-46 bunker in case I wanted to sign events from a social client too

The primary use-case is signing DVM responses. Internal services live in one box today but may include more in the future and I don't want to be pasting nsec around

GrapheneOS is fantastic. I use it every day and kind of take it for granted, it's good to stop for a minute and be grateful that it exists. It runs smooth on my Pixel, I got the hang of fine-grained permissions, used multiple profiles and the private space. I have most of the apps I need, battery is quite good, and Google or big tech is refreshingly absent. The only noticeable downgrade from an iPhone in my experience is the camera and image-related software. Camera app is too basic and sometimes crashes, image quality is average, and image editing capabilities are very limited. In all other aspects, definitely an upgrade. Highly recommend making the move.#grapheneos

You can't "vibe code" an app like @78ce6faaI used to have doubts, now I'm 100% certain.I say this after having created #purplestack with that idea. (It still can do smaller apps right)These agents/LLMs are just not good enough. With the latest models including GPT-5, progress on this front appears to have stalled.Medium-term bearish on AI systems not involving regular human input.

How does that look like in practice? MCP servers and context files, or something else?

Makes sense, is this something you came up with or it's an established idea?I'm still skeptical seeing how these LLMs often "forget" things that are well in their context window.

It seems to me Americans lost a tremendous amount of freedoms since the establishment of the Constitution, despite having an armed population

It's great you guys have that right and certainly helps, but govt is not afraid of your guns - only of public opinion like anywhere else.USA should be the freest country in the world, unfortunately far from that

In most freedom indices the US ranks below ~15th in terms of human and economic freedom but then the discussion gets very, very nuanced depending on what freedom means to you. Maybe those indices are corrupted? I don't know. There are also low-key smaller countries where there are more "de facto" freedoms than appear on paper.

Random thought I just had:Fiat is better than bitcoin for sparking entrepreneurship.A perpetually devaluing shitcoin puts fire on your ass to come up with creative ways of doing new things.Fully buying into the price go up narrative makes many people lazier? Kinda checks out with the average entrepreneurial spirit in bitcoin circles
