@Nonilex sounds like a way to split the red vote to me! We actually saw this in a local school board election. A novice blue leaning candidate (though they are non partisan seats and elections) won vs an establishment red candidate and a very anti trans MAGA one. It was a nice surprise.

@futurebird my kitchenaid induction stove has touch controls (not intuitive) and also, since there’s a grid of some kind of circuitry across the entire face of the stove, it FREAKS OUT if you put a pan on the stove to cool that’s not induction capable. Like aluminum cookie sheet. It beeps and resets and won’t work for a few minutes. Also you much water spilled on the stove face? FREAK OUT! Like 1/4 cup; yes that’s messy but sometimes a pot boils over and I don’t expect it to SHUT DOWN the entire stove.

@futurebird i agree with everyone saying this is obfuscation, certainly in this instance. I also see a strong trend in business and life for people to want to sound smart and precise by using bigger words vs smaller, to use complex phrasing instead of simple. At least I assume that’s the motivation. Utilize vs. use.Have a good rest of your day.Impactful.plus passive voice, which is about avoiding direct accountability for who did what. Though that’s probably compliance writing style in addition to to the inflation of grandeur by bigger word choice.I don’t like it. It doesn’t make things more clear. It makes them hard to read. Say what you mean. Speak plainly!

@futurebird avoid, get distracted over and over, eventually sit down and do for a few minutes, go get a drink, come back, get an IM I need to answer, start again, etc etc. eventually do for a while, with more unplanned breaks.
