@meowski @crunklord420 @josh when people defend others, it’s often a low number. It’s called the Bystander Effect, where in an emergency, something like 85% of people will watch & do nothing, mostly waiting for others or authorities to help, a small amount (iirc 5%) step in to help, and the remaining 10% do something else that I forget, maybe panic. It’s been years since I learned about this & read the studies. Looking into bystanders effect will give deets. At the same time, people are getting socialized to be more & more jaded. It’s a mix of things, maybe some of it simply that more bystanders equals more bystander effect.
