#DOScember tests with MSDOS NETDRIVE, which assigns a new drive letter to a remote LAN or internet hard disk/diskette volume; accessing the tool's author test remote volume. I grabbed a bunch of his favorite utilities and ran programs like it was nothing. https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=97743

#F256K just got not 1, not 2 but 3 related xmas demo-things in the last few days, highlighting some of its retro computer capabilities (SID music, PSG music, 60 fps animation, shoutouts to the "sceners" (lol)). I roped all 3 in a video here https://youtu.be/bIHiuJkVEso

v0.1 of my MIDI file parser 'n player done in THINK C for Macintosh running System 6.0.3+.The dream was to recreate what Space Quest III could do with a Roland MT-32 as game music all the way back in the Mac Plus days in 1989. This uses a Roland SC-88ST https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrclpnkEM8Q

I've archived these 4 disks from 1991 from Passport Designs containing midi files at the start of the General #Midi Mania. Best hear with a proper hardware midi synths, but I guess software render GM is not too shabby nowadays. dl#5 is a straight zip with all of them inside. https://macintoshgarden.org/apps/midi-hits-collection

I'm making a space shoot 'em up for my #F256K2 while participating in a week long Game Jam. The twist is that you go across computer video game ages and the graphics and sound scale up the "Bit Ladder" with you as you buy upgrades.video demo of the work-in-progress state:https://youtu.be/wFgM0UN_bYw

So I coded a new After Dark 3.0 screen module in May 2025, based on a concept and artwork from Japhy Riddle. After Dark had this THINK C SDK, perfectly matching my experience. It's called the "Screen Shaver"See it in action for a spell, running under Basilisk II.https://www.youtube.com/live/07Dhl8O-z5E?si=n53QLUYUDwZxIvh2

Not a single human being asked for it, but I coded a small C program in msdos Borland C++ 3.1 to take in MIDI signals and reroute it to the PC speaker. Some sort of polyphony is next on the docket! https://youtube.com/shorts/ulR5CTz6EPM?feature=share

I checked out this MOD player running on a Mac Plus and lightly modified it to have a standard file picker dialog. The project is from someone named 'MIST' who ported mod tracker playing code from Atari to the Mac (makes sense, both 68000 cpus!).If you thought mod players needed a 68020 or 68030 (ie SoundTrecker), you thought wrong just like me!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZeTBa_5CZiQ
