It's so depressing to know that thorium nuclear reactors exist, and are so much safer than other fission reactors, but will never be pursued because they're more "expensive". They're not more expensive, you just can't offset your costs by producing nuclear weapons from the byproducts (without additional effort). I'm glad solar is finally kicking coal's ass, but I am worried it might be too late.#solarpunk #alternative #energy

@Miredly Find something with built in adjustable lumbar support to not fuck your back. Other than that, I prefer breathable mesh materials, which are thankfully popular now. You can get cheap chairs from office supply stores, but if you have a slightly larger budget, look for local listings and you might be able to score something like a Herman Miller Aeron for very cheap (might need a little fixing). Furniture rental stores also sometimes sell their used stuff at clearance prices. There are guides for proper ergonomic desk setups in many places online, so find one of those and calculate what you need based on your body measurements. Make sure not to just go by height though; everyone's torso, arms, and legs are in different ratios, so it's really the way your joints bend that matters.

@lanodan @w @nyx Do you happen to know how hard is it to get one of those running on modernish phone hardware these days? You just reminded me that I looked into trying out Maemo when I was a broke college student 10 years ago, but lacked the necessary power level to make it happen.
