       @ChrisWere honestly, anything below 720p is unwatchable for me on a PC.Appreciate being efficient but there’s things that can be done on the server and client end that solves those problems:1) Rendering multiple versions of a video once.3a) Encoding. Bad encoding can totally be worse than bigger resolution.2) Client selecting appropriate video quality for viewing.3) Green and carbon positive data centres.

       @ChrisWere don’t forget that Bitcoin and Chia mining, Tik Tok and Printer Ink DRM still exists.From an efficiency standpoint, 720p video is hardly the hill I’d be willing to die on.

       @cwebber It’s proven that ISPs can’t be trusted not to track, intercept and even alter our data in transit. Time to build a mesh net, a connected superhighway that runs over the top of public infrastructure and just skips all the nonesense.

       @thelinuxcast to be fair, I’ve never seen a company go to that much effort to build a good product. And their staff, principles and warranty demonstrates that they absolutely stand by their products.

       @fsf what is the FSF and @eff doing to lobby governments into offering privacy friendly and open alternatives? In high school I was given an Apple laptop, and that whole school became Apple users. Now I’m worried my future child will be forced into Google and a Chromebook will appear in my Linux-only household before the child really understand what that means.
