       Today in "the future is stupid", both my phones bleeted out an alert about "a missing person named blah, for more info click this bitly link"the bitly link went to a twitter post, which you can't read without being logged into an account.hope that person doesn't need to be found, I guess, because the sheriff's office can't be arsed posting missing person info anywhere than on elmu's twitter

       @foone "a twitter post, which you can't read without being logged into an account"Is that still a thing though?There was brief period a couple of years ago when they started requiring login for any link to a tweet, but they rowed back on that change. So for example I can open this URL in an incognito window. We see some ugly login & cookie guff, but it *does* show the tweet.I suppose maybe it depends on some settings (in which case this sheriff's office are using the wrong settings!)
