The reason that this is happening now and why nogs just discovered Kool-aid is that after the soda EBT ban they discovered that the unsweetened Kool-aid and white sugar are both still SNAP eligible. So they started to buy sugar and kool-aid with their EBT fraud stuff and reselling it to make money from EBT. That's why there's such an explosion of this shit now, because it's a way to keep on the EBT fraud bus.
