       Incredible work from Godot on supporting the whole flow, right up to publication, all inside Android. This allows many, many more people to try making and to publish their own games, especially for kids or people in poorer countries, where access to a PC can often be harder than to a smartphone.https://godotengine.org/article/gabe-stable-release/

       @ignaloidas@not.acu.lt A self-hosted development platform on smartphones is a total pain to use, but absolutely important considering the documented history of computation. Not everyone has a GE 635 mainframe for cross-compiling to a PDP-7.

       @niconiconi@mk.absturztau.be so tbh it's not as awful as you might think - it's not super amazing, but besides the text input (you really want a BT keyboard for this), it's surprisingly usable. After all, the editor is using the same UI as the games, and as such is pretty decent wrt touch screens

       @niconiconi@mk.absturztau.be so here's a screen recording of me making a project, and making a sprite move on my phone. I have a BT keyboard with a pointing stick, so I do have a pointer as well to make it a bit easier.
