I was once dropped off at night in a remote African shithole, there was no electricity or moon. Looking out seemed similar to this. In the morning we realized we had been looking out at the Indian Ocean and what we were seeing were ship lights.

Oh dang I actually got to see that glowing blue algae stuff once at my friends house as a teen. There was a shitty brown waterway behind his place with a little dock we could go on. When we threw a rock into the water and the splash glowed blue it blew our minds. Never seen or heard of anything like it at the time. We thought it might be toxic waste or something so we didn't jump in.
