Apparently, you need 2 different kinds to cross pollinate for cherries. So, I'm hoping to keep both of them going. Or I'll just end up with a pretty tree.

@mjdigspigs Yup, you need sweet cherries and sour cherries. Morello are the most useful sour ones, best for cooking and taste the best, I think.

@mjdigspigs I'm not familiar with any of those but any sour cherry should get the job done. Do a little reading and see which ones you might actually have use for. That's a lot cheaper than it'd cost over here tbh.

@mjdigspigs How interesting, I'd always read that you needed sweet and sour and no other combination would result in fruit. Glad you've got the bases covered, petal. Just keep treating them as well as you have so far and you'll be eating cherries in a few years, if you can beat the birds and other critters to them first.

@mjdigspigs That's awful, I wonder what went wrong, they seem to be doing well enough now. Was it too wet? I remember you saying something about planting one atop a fire ants nest but that doesn't explain all of them. Were they from the same supplier?
