Changed put the filters on one of the Corsi Rosenthal boxes. Was still working fine, but looking really dingy and furry. A bunch of the screws holding the fans had worked loose... bolts worked a lot better. May switch those up next time. Also the fan connectors shook loose pulling it apart, friction fit not great on a gently vibrating platform, lol. Will tape those together next time, too. #corsirosthenthalbox #airquality

@cookiesinheaven LOL yeah, that's why the new filters. Gross. They were still working, however! I have an AQI monitor and turning on the filter would most certainly clean the air. Probably not as efficiently, that said.

@ai6yr - boy were there some interesting items in the kitchen fridge of the Natural History Museum when I worked there. Furry. Feathery. Scaly. 😳

@cookiesinheaven So, my department has someone who was storing misc roadkill for future study in a fridge... the FRIDGE BROKE this semester. It sat for several days until they could remove it. 🤢

@ai6yr @cookiesinheaven I told my husband this so he could understand there are worse things to find in the fridge than an ant colony or two... or three...(The girls need to experience winter so the queen can rest! They all lay down and fall asleep. It's very cute. And when they wake up when you take them out? Even more cute.)

@ai6yr @futurebird @cookiesinheaven I once had a whole bunch of tiny ants get into a bag of candied ginger on the countertop.I put it in the freezer to kill them, thinking I could then shake them off the ginger (and then use a better container).A few hours later I took it out, let it warm up... and the ants "came back to life". 😑 I had to sort them out the hard way.

@3janeTA @varx @ai6yr @cookiesinheaven I don't buy this. Maybe in a fridge, but a freezer? I don't think so. Deep skepticism.

@futurebird @varx @ai6yr @cookiesinheaven 7th grade bug collection as evidence. I was friends with three kids one grade apart. Kid A had a “leftover” blattodea and saved for Kid B. Defrosted and the specimen started walking around. They had a hard time killing roaches for Thai project. Naphtha didn’t work well either.
