Concept:Automated translated captions for language learners. Instead of trying to translate and display *every* word it only shows the words that are less similar to their English equivalents side by side with their spelling in Spanish. (This could be done for any pair of similar languages.)Video Says: "hormigas prefieren la alta humedad y la oscuridad"Caption:hormigas - antsoscuridad - darkness

@futurebird fortunately for me I can also wonder "oh how close is hormigas to the French fourmis", which makes Spanish much easier for me to understand at least. Vietnamese is much less helpful for this purpose.

@futurebird I like this idea, because after 4 years of high-school French 30 years ago, I find that I remember the grammar structures and simple verbs but there are many many nouns and generally less frequently used words that I wish I knew.

@futurebird Bonus points if it emphasizes "false friends" e.g. embarazada - PREGNANT

@futurebird huh, for hormiga, wiktionary says "Inherited from Old Spanish formiga, from Latin formīca." for the etymology. Interesting. https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/hormiga#Spanish
