I think it was around 15 years ago but definitely after the 2008 financial crisis that boomers just did a 180 and started telling White kids that college was stupid and they should learn a trade instead.This is after spending the last 30 years preaching college as the only way you can get anywhere in life.You're literally going to be working at Mcdonalds for the rest of your life if you don't go to college. Can confirm; though surprisingly at one point my dad did tell me he was impressed that I bailed out from college my first run before falling into absurd debt. I’d started out thinking he meant to at least partially finance my continued education - but it became increasingly obvious over time he had no intention of doing so. I guess it had been a test of sorts - which I apparently passed.

We'll still see another wave of college closings in the next few years. I was taught that everyone needed college. Then I worked in higher ed and saw that most people don't. College is a scam to people from their money and drive them into perpetual debt.
