@PNS Not to mention most manufacturing jobs moved overseas which are like the next layer of economic development after farming. The companies did this to reduce operating costs without considering the long term effects it would have on the job market, just caring about their pockets to keep the house to keep the wife and kids.

@Max_Imum Nothing has shaped the job and real estate markets like the corporations Boomers have invested in or are invested in. Currency valuation was affected because the news told them they would die from COVID and the money supply got pumped. Boomers invest in shit like Pharma because the returns are ridiculous.

@PNS so all older folks of that age did this intentionally? Do Boomers have meetings that they all get together and decide to vote lock step in unison? White Privelege did this to me so I have to steal from the store! This is divisive language to blame a whole group instead of the actual people and policies that lead to the current situation.

I'd be considered a very late boomer, borderline X'er, and I know enough people older than myself who are going to struggle hard as they age from a combination of poor financial choices, poor career choices, poor choice in a spouse, bad luck, etc. All in hindsight. There's enough of them. But there are far more who went along with the boom times and did everything in that list. Hell, I would be guilty except I tried to keep honest and forthright in an industry that passed me by in ethics and professionalism and I paid the price. But it gives me a great deal of insight and empathy to the generations after my own.The biggest crime is the wilful lack of understanding or even acknowledgement of what the young in the West have to deal with today. They are completely blind to it and it is completely by choice. I've seen it.And all so they can avoid feeling any guilt or any sense of responsibility for what they did or, especially, how they could help today.

It was so toxic at Ridley Park that one day, six of us in my section, during lunchtime, packed our desks, dropped off our badges at HR and walked out.My wife, just a few months after we met, was an orbital mechanics specialist at the Johnson Space Center until she and most of her section was replaced, without warning or even a severance package, with H1Bs & niggers.Even as a partner in a small engineering firm nowadays, I see it still. A couple years ago, a [once] respected local businessman went back on a written [and notarized] deal with us to purchase his CNC assets worth over $3 million (that we already put down a healthy earnest deposit on), selling off his business & assets to jeets for cash so he could retire early. We had to take that guy to court to recover the funds. His defense was literally based on his adamant belief that we would never be able to raise the funds for his assets, and that we 'knew the risks' in giving him the earnest money. Fortunately the jury ruled in our favor, and he lost big. The most recent hit to our livelihoods was the business park we are in being taken over via eminent domain by the state & led by a BlackRock-affiliated group. Last week, we were notified that we have until 01 September of this year to vacate the premises; the land owners will be tearing the place down to make way for Section 9 housing. Despite overwhelming objection by our city council, backed by a local voter-led referendum, we were all overruled by the assholes in Austin, led by none other than Jew, Jeet & Goatfucker Loving boomer Greg 'Wheels' Abbott. To be fair, given all the Section 8 niggers that got dumped into our community by the state and all the problems they bring, we were already looking to relocate by the end of 2027 (due to current workload), but now we have no choice but to accelerate everything, which will be extremely disruptive to our operations, especially knowing that we have yet to officially lock down homes or a business venue at our new location. We estimate this disruption to eat about $250 large out of our coffers, at least in the short run. Hopefully we can recover in due course.So I am inclined to agree with the sentiments of you, @PNS & my wife when I say what while not all boomers had a direct hand in a lot of this mess, their willful ignorance & general indifference to what we're all having to deal with because of the actions of many of their peers is most disappointing.
