Alternating reassurance and ultimatum degrades the credibility of both in negotiations. Counterparts read the cycle, not the individual statement — and calibrate accordingly. Actual coercive leverage comes from the interdiction platform being demonstrably sustainable, not from rhetoric around it.

@Nonilex yeah, falling into #Iran's strategic plan seems very on brand. #USA is in a hurry to resolve, #Iran who is actually making war on the global economy is happy to slow walk. So an even more performative period of U.S. attacks designed to create video for the #Trump morning briefing, and I think some interesting new weapons. But mostly at standoff range (which is very smart actually, U.S. wants no #Moskva kind of incident), and at drone ranges. I doubt you even see now vulnerable F-35s.
