I have been working on the fediverse word game. It now has a name: #Fedidle (fedi + riddle).How a day will look:12:00 UTC: bot posts the word to guess (followers only for better moderation and spoiler prevention)11:55 UTC next day: game ends, bot posts public resultsNo time pressure. The real game will be between instances.End of day: instances ranked by average score, not by number of players. A small instance with skilled players will be able to top the leaderboard.Minimum 5 players per instance to qualify. Weekly leaderboard posted every Sunday.Words will come from player suggestions. Anti-cheat: the bot will track stats over a rolling window. Suspicious patterns (too many first-try solves, impossibly low averages) will be flagged automatically.Flagged players can still play but will be excluded from instance rankings. No automated bans. @apps FYI "diddle" can have a bit of a not-great connotation. If it's pronounced "fuh-did-uhl" that might not sound great. See the last in the top list here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diddler

@apps No worries, just wanted you to know! I know how common fedi and libre are for names in this space, and of course it's fun when you can make it work, but sometimes it just doesn't sit well in a given language.

@coqYes, the first version will be in English and maybe French, my mother tongue. Then it will be open to other languages. The architecture is already built to support multilanguage.

@appsGreen vs yellow may not work gray for some types of colourblindness: people with protanopia/protanomalia mais have a hard Time telling one from the other. Maybe keep yellow and gray but use green checkmarks ✅ for correct letters?
