They do in England. Their 'version' of vegemite is Marmite, and instead of being hard, it's much more syrupy.They put a teaspoon of that into a cup of hot water and voila.

You're thinking of Borvil (beef extract). Marmite is very thick like tar and mainly for toast, Borvil is mainly for drinks. If you want forbidden foods try Marmite Roast Potatoes.

There might have been, I don't know. Borvil was always the drink one to me and Marmite for toast (and go easy on it, it's strong).
