PSA: If you have a Wii U and it displays a 160-1400 error code - DON'T TOSS IT IN THE BIN!!!! Really, you shouldn't toss any defective electronics in the garbage - they're usually repairable. It's likely to be a perfectly repairable flaw involving the filters along the data line for the Blu-ray drive failing. If you know someone who does solder work, all it needs is a bypass with some jumper wire, or replacement filters! :neofox:

I was reminded by a listing for a Wii U with this fault code on local salvage, going for practically nothing.

If it weren't for this common fault, I feel like the Wii U would be very reliable.

Oh right, there's eMMC. Two common (potential) faults. :neofox_flop:

TIL - there's a fix kit that overrides the soldered eMMC with a MicroSD card slot. That's fucking awesome!
