       i don’t quite buy the argument that people who criticize ai are doing so from a position of privilege just because they may possess certain skills and even feel threatened by it. if you would like something done for you, and it turns out you rely on stolen/underpaid labor, environmental destruction, and scam economics to do so, that’s not exactly the kind of magical liberatory politics you might think it is. it’s just not particularly well hidden arbitrage

       of course as many are quick to point out, this is not unique to ai. it’s the same old capitalist trick that’s been happening for centuries, just now it’s supercharged to an unprecedented degree by intense concentrations of wealth
