@LoliHat @ChristiJunior God, I hate how new Trek treats any synthetic life forms just from what I know of Picard what with basically making all androids evil for no real reason and such, I'm sure I'd hate whatever they may have already done to holograms. Speaking of, Vic Fontaine really was a standout character in DS9 even with his few appearances. It's Only a Paper Moon is a personal favorite episode.

The reality is that the vast majority of all the people who interact with any media aren't vocal. It's a hobby, and thus it gets treated as such. I do think people would enjoy a good Trek made in the style and tone of the older shows. While it doesn't quite match up, and I do have quite a few issues with it, The Orville was decently successful and mostly follows the proper Trek style, just a bit more comedy focused. I think the problem isn't the audience but instead the companies, studios, and staff. The people still are willing to watch good Trek, but the Hollywood assholes don't want to make Trek.

It’s easy to see Seth Macfarlane really does like the classic Trek stuff at least, the love shows quite often.
