Suppose the President and Vice President and Speaker of the House were impeached and removed.Under a somber President Chuck Grassley, there comes a change of leadership at DOJ, eager to restore rule of law, and to vigorously hold to account people who violated the law from positions of trust. 1/

With an assertive DOJ looking at violations in labor law, classified material handling, privacy law, etc, how many years of prison, how many dollars of fines would Elon Musk + his young minions, former cabinet secretaries + their deputies, other advisors and political appointees be liable for? /fin

@interfluidity President Grassley is something I’ve thought about a lot for some reason. It just feels like a Chekov’s Gun thing at this point, the gerontocrat to end all gerontocrats.

@interfluidity they are not violating any laws. The violations are only in your head.

@Phil I know that's your view. But it's wrong. On privacy violations alone, I think all of Musk's billions would be gone. And there is so much more.I am looking forward to it.I continue to oppose the death penalty. One must stick to ones principles even in difficult times.

@interfluidity show me one bit if proof that there has been a single privacy violation. I swear, if thugs broke into your house and were destroying it and robbing you blind, and your wife walked one of them with an iron skillet, you'd call the cops on your wife. Its exactly the same warped thinking your Musk derangement syndrome is producing

@Phil If the reporting that they've accessed confidential files is false, well, great. DOJ can investigate and find nothing happened. I don't know. You don't know. But if the reporting is true that they, say, insisted beyond procedure, very early on, to access detailed files of the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, including SSNs, bank account numbers, etc., well, we are off to the races.

@interfluidity the President has delegated the authority to them to do it. The constitution vests him with ALL executive power. Over the last several years there have been hundreds of illegal access, by government law enforcement and abuse of the FISA system, on private data of many Americans. Most of that illegal activity was done by members of the justice department. All musk is doing is uncovering government corruption. How do you benefit from the corruption, so that this would upset you?
