       I feel we need to work to de-cringe hashtag use on fedi. These could be really useful and they've been ruined by mastocels polluting the pool by using 20 tags per post for no damn reason.I feel like showing some restraint would be a start, using only the most relevant ones for any given post, and not using any where they aren't warranted. I know restraint may seem alien to a network known (unfairly, if you've used any other microblogging service) for reply guys, but it really would help to just be more thoughtful here.

       @lucretia I don't use any hashtags rly, this is fedi not twitter :P I don't mind them if it's like cat pictures or something. Like the #/caturday one etc

       @david well yeah, in a way that's the point, it feels like a loser twitter thing but in reality tagging posts/content is just kind of normal if you want people to find it.It's not relevant for everything, but it would be very useful for finding new stuff that isn't specifically by people already in your Following list.
