So on the surface, this seems good right?Problems:1. This won't pass2. If it does pass, SCOTUS will shoot it down in judicial review3. The most insidious part is that he is capitulating to the ruling itself and only trying to carve out whether Trump's coup attempt was official, NOT overturn immunity broadly. They've *already* given up on that fight after a week.Like I keep saying, these people aren't coming to save you. You need to organize without them.#uspolhttps://thehill.com/homenews/senate/4760638-schumer-trump-immunity/

@CedarTea Have there been any opinion polls on how people feel about "presidential immunity" ... it seems like in the abstract it wouldn't be popular? Maybe? So the point of doing such a vote is to make people take a side on the issue. Not to pass it. That said you are correct that voting is necessary but not sufficient.

I can already hear you typing VOTEThat does not solve this issue. You're trying to use a tape measure to drive screws.

@futurebird Yeah I agree. I'm fine with him throwing the spaghetti at the wall. Same goes for AOC's impeachment attempt. My point isn't that he shouldn't do it, only that the approach of the party is not nearly sufficient to the situation. People need to be willing to take action beyond electoral means instead of assuming a presidential win is going to solve this.
