I am soooooooo sad. Got my annual fundraising appeal from an abortion fund I have supported for years and noticed the name has changed. Read the appeal and noticed the word 'woman' is not to be found anywhere on it - reference is now to 'patients' needing services. With great trepidation I went to the website, first to discover they are closed for January due to lack of funds because of outrageously increased demand - my thought was 'oh no, maybe I can find a way to double my usual donation'. Whatever women's services are relying on donations - abortion, domestic violence, homelessness - those like use feel the money wouldn't get to what the women need, we stop donating.I'd like to give some money to a women's shelter in Glasgow, but I honestly don't know where to start. Do they have sufficient funding from central and local govt? Are they captured? does the money actually get to frontline?

They were/are the only fund of its kind in a state that has a right wing Republican legislature and governor that have decimated women and girls access to reproductive choice, and have outright stated that they will do anything they can to impeded the constitutional right to abortion passed in November 2023 by regulatory methods.I haven't thrown out the appeal letter. I will reflect on the radical feminism tenet that we support and fight for the liberation of all women, even those we don't agree with - I just do not know yet what my final decision about donating will be. The need for women and girls to get help accessing abortion is so great.

@Notgonnastop @Fullycaffeinated Women tend not to donate to "women's funds" if they serve men.The organization either knew that going in, that they would lose their base or they're in massive denial. I agree access to care is important, but part of me is saying these kinds of services fall.

@LostInCalifornia @Fullycaffeinated Given that only women and girls can get pregnant, the funding they supply is for transportation, housing, food, abortion fee, for individuals getting an abortion so the funds go to women and not men. I don't know if any of the staff are men who call themselves women or just women who are handmaidens to gender identity ideology, if any are men then yes, a small portion of funds would go to that salary.This is a real ethical dilemma for me. I've supported the organization since its founding, back when there was no debate whatsoever about who is a woman. And they have been life changing for so many women and girls.

@Notgonnastop I think abortion is too serious of a matter here. I understand your dilemma, it disgusts me how insidious and evil men are, infiltrating every aspect of womanhood, down to language. It's like men from both sides are holding us hostage - it's either "give us womanhood, forfeit your safety and security," or "enjoy your womanhood, and only your womanhood, as an incubator and slave."The erasure of the word "woman" is concerning, but I think donating will ultimately help natal women survive a difficult time in their lives more than it will pamper TIMs.It's your money in the end, but I think even if they help one woman/girl get care she needs, it's worth it.

Genderism serves men because the only way TWAW is if "woman" is not a defined value.(TM on T are far less likely to get pregnant, and NB's basically "smash the gender binary" by claiming "woman" is not a defined value.)I would say the directors of the organization have lost their way. Whether or not to continue to support them is something I would struggle with. A large part of me says women just have to start saying "no."

@LostInCalifornia @Fullycaffeinated I agree that the board has clearly lost the singular focus on the fundamental concept of female sex as necessary for pregnancy and replaced it with gender identity ideology. My commitment to fighting and eradicating this men's movement to eliminate women as a class urges me to refuse to assist the organization any more.Their latest available filing shows administrative costs paid with grant funding, and donated funds used solely for direct application for costs of abortion fees and associated costs (e.g. transportation, housing etc. so it appears donated funds help women no matter what they call themselves. And helping women live choice in reproduction urges me to still provide such help when I can.I am a woman who had financial access to abortion when I needed one, and I want any woman or girl who wants an abortion to be able to feel the relief and joy of choice and control that I have been able to experience.

@HebrideanHecate @Notgonnastop I continued donating to a service for battered women because they still used the word “woman.” Then I learned they allow men who call themselves women to staff their crisis line and to lecture callers who request a female counselor. No more donations from me.
