Xorg is a ticking time bomb, once Red Hat decides to stop maintaining it some of you people better step up to maintain it yourselves or you'll be in for a rough ride.

@BrodieOnLinux idk how it'll look like but i hope the archinstall devs are working on some kind of wayland profile for config users like me

@BrodieOnLinux I use the basic Xorg profile atm with select preferred packages to minimize package count so I hope when the day comes it just adds Wayland as a dependency inline with the other things.

@BrodieOnLinux I switched to test something like last week and have been using it without even noticing (Plasma 5).Only noticed something weird yesterday with the menus in Okular. That and the :wayland: icons in the taskbar.

@BrodieOnLinux a time bomb for what? You think the world is going to stop spinning if Red Hat stops maintaining it?

@BrodieOnLinux What WM you are using, from your videos, I saw few elements that looked like things from Awesome WM. And don't take it the wrong way, I am just asking and I am not against Wayland in any way.

@BrodieOnLinux It's getting closer and closer to viable with NVidia. Plasma6 and Nvidia 545 drivers is likely where I'll make the switch.Still on 535, gonna let 545 cook a few weeks before pulling the trigger.

@BrodieOnLinux Unfortunately, since nivida still doesn't play nice with wayland, it's 80% there imoI'll just switch back over to windows untill it gets all the way there

@BrodieOnLinux I'll probably just stop updating tbh.I mean, I already don't update existing installations, but I'll probably stop installing newer distros is what I mean.

@BrodieOnLinux I wonder when XFCE will support Wayland. I main XFCE with Linux MInt and don't plan on using anything else.

@BrodieOnLinux Throughout my years I have seen plenty of this. I am not worried. Every time a hole gets popped it will almost always fill in before it explodes.

I'm almost afraid of the transition from plasma 5 to 6 on arch. I switched over to Linux about 6 months ago and I settled on plasma about a month ago. Learning Linux, slowly tuning, and building up Hyprland as I used it got in the way of productivity. @BrodieOnLinux @pikachu_sensei

@BrodieOnLinux Ah cool.I hope Wayland by that time works with screen sharing and other such things. In the past when I tried Wayland with GNOME or KDE, PCSX2 wouldn't launch my games...for some reason.
