I think that to see him as a *particularly* bad guy requires a lot of ignorance to what The Oligarchy does.They and their little "free trade agreements" turned vast swaths of America into an unlivable hell-scape the likes of which are not seen anywhere else in the world. @deavmi I guess what is meant by free trade...Some use it to mean no regulation, in other words, your free to manipulate the markets all you want so long as you dont make any laws to enable it...Others mean free trade as minimally regulated where those regulations are generally limited towards preventing hijacking, manipulation, and control of the market.. I don't think he is perfect, but I don't think he qualifies as evil any more than you or me. I don't have anything but geography in common with anyone in public office. I just think all the "trump is evil" talk is brain worms. Many much worse people hold office in DC. The establishment wants you to think of trump as evil. It's easier to believe he tried to take over the country if you think he's evil. It's easy to imagine some violent sequel to j6 if he's evil. Trump specifically seemed very open, in sexist comments and quite open with his scams. While criminal politicians are a danger, i find open lawlessness without punishment even more dangerous - it establishes that they can do whatever they want. I notice similar here in germany, where they increasingly just shrug and go on when caught.

In one version everything the media reports about trump is true and not political. In the other the media is part of the establishment and hates anything that threatens established power (in spite of attempts to appear revolutionary). Much of what they say is politically motivated and steeped in misinformation.You can be mad that he says things out loud, but let's not pretend it isn't the same things many people think quietly to themselves or say to their friends when the camera isn't running. Personally I'd rather know the people in power are being honest about their beliefs (not saying trump is always honest just that complaining he is brash seems like you prefer the friendly lie over the painful truth). As far as crime goes I don't think he has been convicted of any crimes and I'm fairly any crimes he's been accused of in the media are hot air. Meanwhile our current president has conflicts of interest regarding Ukraine and China. He used his position to extort control over another country and bragged about it to the media. Everyone cheered. He has been lying to the public since the 80s when he claimed to have been much higher educated than he is. He is proud of his involvement in the PATRIOT ACT. The media is very careful to avoid the many land mines that biden had around him, but let's all talk about how trump allegedly said the n word in the 60s or 70s.

He was a big bag of words, saying a lot, but it seems he did not get around to crimes against humanity in general (above the usual continued push for more fossil energy, not something new). My bad, i mixed up two things. Yet, the little effort to hide the existing crimes (housing market scams, sexual abuse) combined with a completely unhinged form of expression is still there, and actively reproduced by our politicians. I do hold the hope that a criminal conviction might slow our mudslingers down a little, to give me a few more years in quiet desperation instead of direct impact because of an emerging fourth reich.

No one ever questioned his business savvy before he was elected. In fact most fawned over him. The smearing didn't start until he announced his candidacy.The funny thing is I thought he was an idiot during those years. I didn't take his first run seriously at all. It felt like the presidential election was a wwe ppv. It wasn't until I saw how absolutely insane the establishment was over his win that I started to think maybe he had something of interest. I don't think he did the best job as president, but he did better IMO than the ones before him, and much better than I would expect Hillary might have done. I wish the power of executive order would go the way of the dodo. I wish he never did warp speed. Otherwise we saw economic improvement over his term and I think if it weren't for the brainwashed masses being whipped up into a frenzy we might even have been able to see social improvement.

A good example is the russian offensive war: it is wrong, but i never get tired to point out that other countries do the same without repercussions. All should be stopped, not the other side made an example while continuing to do evil, pushing the narrative of "west = good guys" through diversion. What i found different here is the brazenness of trump, which adds another quality for me, while the russian offensive war is just the same as all the others: some transparent lies, then the murders start.

@admitsWrongIfProven I guess I struggle to see the "evil" in Trump compared to pretty much any career politician. Brashness is not evil. Political in-correctness is not evil. Not concealing your rude thoughts is not evil. Meanwhile plenty of people I would say do have evil track records and somehow end up with support from people flagging Trump as evil. It's just weird to me. I actually think way too many people think of themselves as "good people" and their particular pet causes as virtuous. I think most of us are actually mostly evil with very few exceptions so if we're using that definition sure Trump is evil, but the point of continually revisiting the point is to suggest he's more evil than others and I just don't see it. I think it's brainwashing.The only reason I bring up Biden or other politicians is because evil is a relative term and you need something to compare it against. Trump hasn't even been a politician most of his life (at least not in a state capacity).

It is the effects, and your intent around it, not the speech itself. But it effectively limits speech indirectly.For example if i engage in slander/libel, but there is no actual harm that comes of it, my freedom of speech had no ill effects and i was legal allowed to say the slander/libel I said, since it is only illegal should there be harm caused.However if harm caused you can be held guilty and sued. However it is not the speech itself that is illegal, but rather the consequences of that speech and knowing engaging to create those consequences.So yes free speech there is legal, but the consequences are not. There are actual limits to freedom of speech, for example incitement to violence.Even if you believe what you say (not fraud), even if you aren't obviously expecting people to carry out a specific action (not conspiracy), speech can STILL be suppressed if it is deemed too likely it is to result in violent / criminal actions.Another one is espionage (what Julian Assange is likely to be charged with), that is purely speech/press, acting as a news organization. The United States asserts that THAT speech is illegal because the information contained is military secrets.
