I haven't tried it, but if I put the ram in slots 2&4 rather than slots 1&3 would that fuck it up?

@vixn have you checked to see if your mb supports that ram? Not all ram works in all mbs. It's also possible if you may need a mb bios update

@vixn Depends. I've seen boards that won't boot if there is no ram in slot 1, but I can't say it would fuck it up. Can't say it won't, either.

@vixn you need to check the manual if you have one to see which slots to use. I can say that on my msi b450 the slots are 2nd and fourth. That doesn't mean yours is the same of course

@CharlieHorsePower thank you, now to learn how to do this, obviously, as you can see, I have never once updated a bios.

@vixn that link I sent you has another link on the page on how to update. I also think you need slots 2 and 4 judging by the markers on your board. I took a screen shot zoomed in. If you look at the board closely I'm pretty sure that symbol shows what slots to use. My b450 is the same way. It states it on the board not.

@vixn Its possible the board can't run at that speed or the bios has it locked down.

@vixn Yeah, it's all interoperable on a low level, but if you want to get fancy, you have to check the compatibility charts.Hopefully you have all the original packing material and can send it back.
