Lol! :bloblaugh: My dad just send me a screenshot of a news article about #Mastodon Kinda funny since he always said I should stop with this 'nonsense' and get a real job haha :flan_laugh: My reply was always: "Ha, talk to you within a few years!" and indeed I got it right :blobcathighfive: But yeah, that's most people AFK since they just don't get it. @stux I think having the world move from centralized, corporate social media, to decentralized social media by & for the people, is maybe the most important thing for our societies at this point in time! I hope your dad one day realizes that too!

@stux My dad was uncertain about me switching majors to computers from engineering. Once he saw me get a job in it and what it paid, he changed his tune real quick. My dad wasn't nearly as quick as yours to talk shit about career choices though.I think the "being able to earn a living at it" is what finally changed both of their minds
