@urusan I don't try to hide the fact that I'm on fedi, I've shared it with many people I know. But I don't think most people are aware of my exact username or is even interested in checking out my account, lol :blobcatgiggle:So I'm unsure which option is true for me...... 😅

@futureisfoss I meant to make this poll about how willing you are to share, rather than how much other people care.Looking back over my question again, I can see how it would be interpreted as you sharing and them listening though.I would answer based on how much you share rather than how effective your Fedi evangelizing efforts are.

@urusan Yes I understand that, but I don't know if I'll be comfortable with all of my friends and family following me here though. I only share it because I'm pretty sure they won't, haha 😄And I don't do much of an evangelizing too, I usually refer to it as "social media" because not many people know about fedi. So if someone asks what I'm doing on my phone, I say I'm on social media or something like that. Only if they specifically ask what platform I'm using then I'll say Mastodon.

@futureisfoss @urusan they seem largely indifferent to my presence here. Even though they are aware of the very low barrier to entry, they won't leave their existing networks. Like they're hypnotized. I'm not going to bother shaking them out of it. "I'm on Pleroma". They can look it up or they can kick rocks.

@urusan aside from like three (3) people (one of whom introduced me to fedi) they just don't care. a couple more might remember that i use some weird niche social media though.

@urusan I'm super paranoid that one day I'll do something stupid and give one of my aliases a bad reputation, so I try to keep my real name, and each online username pretty separate and unaware of eachother. E.G. only my close family know about "opencomputedesign", only my really really close family know about [redacted], and only one person from [redacted] knows about "opencomputedesign", etc
