@CSB No one can run out and buy a new car tomorrow... Most are impossible to get and have months long wait times. Pumping more oil solves the problem in a way shorter time frame. It just isn't what the current power structure wants the plebs to do.

@CSB I know two people who had BMW i3 Rex. They traded them in for Teslas.But the car is great, it is light, carbon fibre, amazing acceleration. The base model is good for 130km on Electric and 130km on petrol (the American model has software limited petrol tank, compliance reasons).It's an awesome city, or second car for commutes an errands. But it can travel longer distances with fast charging and petrol.Expensive tyres, costs money to service the generator.

The i3 Rex can do that every day, marginal when the weather is stormy, but go onto petrol on those days.Also both of them are millionaires. They consolidated there long trip cars.BMW + Prius => Tesla 3BMW + Lexus hybrid => Tesal X
