What I learned today: as a Dude Named Ben, Google Chromebooks are the worst. The indoctrination of our children begins in middle school civics classes. Plex on Linux Mint seems to be working pretty good. That is all.

@simonna I bought one 4 years ago. Openned the box and thought what the fuck am I doing? I returned it the next day without even turning it on.

@simonna Set up a Linux laptop for you kid and I guarantee they will resent you for the rest of your days, it’s on par with giving your kids a bad haircut.

@simonna I mean if you want to be ‘different’ and ‘interesting’, and don’t value your time, sure run Linux on anything you want, but don’t force that one anyone, especially the innocent.

@BobJohn @simonna it should be forced on no one, but I've found running Ubuntu as my desktop no more painful than windows.For certain users e.g. gamers and people using the Adobe creative suites this would not be the case.
