Human resources in Indiana, is the public all in on the masking or is it more "don't give a crap". Seriously considering relocating there from the communist state of MD.

@lradcliff I'm next door in Ohio, and my guess is that it depends on where you are. In the big cities, some people will care a lot.Out in the suburbs and countryside: wear a mask, don't wear a mask. No one cares. 80% of people don't mask.City of Dayton passed a mask ordinance a few weeks ago. We've been out to bars every weekend, I've only been asked to put on a mask once.Kid's orthodontist asked me to put on a mask - I said I'd sit in the car. They let me sit in the office without one.

@VeddyBadAng I would have thought out here in the suburbs 40+ minutes away from DC that would be the case. People here are shockingly compliant and scared. My kids went to Long Island NY for 2 weeks earlier this month and said most people were not masking. How the heck is NY more laid back than MD. We get yelled at on a regular basis for not wearing one here, it's making me crazy. Gotta get out of here.

@lradcliff I bet it depends on the suburb. I think it's a pack-mentality thing. You get a critical-mass of maskers in a community, and all of a sudden, everyone feels they have to wear one to fit in with what the crowd is doing.Find a community where the majority is not masking and go there. I would rather be peer-pressured into NOT wearing a mask than the opposite!

@lradcliff Indiana is open in general. I'm in the Chicagoland part near Gary, and there is some culture spillover from Illinois but no mask mandates at any places I frequent. Maybe 20-30% masking. Get outside suburbia, and it's closer to 0%.Schools are masking, but this is only to prevent contact tracing quarantines. And activities outside of school hours have no masking. There is nothing wrong with the land of corn and highways!

@lradcliff I can't vouch for Marian county (Indianapolis) but I'll be there in 2 weeks for a wedding. I expect it to not be much different than Lake county.
