They have nothing to report on ever since trump stopped tweeting...But who knows, since gab did it, it might be possible trump might use mastodon...I can only dream of a near perfect world; every world leader has their own instance, nobody can ban each other and Jack Dorsey cries in a corner... :ac_laughter:

@TheFuzzStone @mesh4545 Now I joined Mastodon after the whole Gab thing but won't a repeat of that just happen with Trump if he had is own instance? Even if moderated well a lot of admins would probably knee-jerk ban the Trump instance.

@TheFuzzStone So rather than this being a new from scratch social media set up, are you suggesting he is just setting up a Mastodon instance. ?if it is the latter, then that could give the fediverse some publicity, not sure it will be a good thing if Trump is then directly linked to Mastodon as if it was his sole idea and project.

@zleap, I don't really think how it will affect the network because of the very figure of Trump, his personality, etc.I just want more people and services to start using #Fediverse, even as a secondary social network. And I think it would be cool if Trump set up his own instance in Fediverse.

@TheFuzzStone @mesh4545 I am a big proponent of free speech too. My question is just an open one; won't many existing spaces just choose to not federate with such a place at all which would ultimately push it away from using Mastodon. Along with creators filtering it from their clients.

@lyndon, We can guess all we want, but it would be cool to see that kind of hype in action, IMO. 🙂 There are a lot of #leftists in #Fediverse - that's the first thing I noticed as soon as I got here a couple of years ago, so there is a chance that most leftist admins won't support federation with #Trump servers.But there are also admins who will support the federation with his servers, and after all, people will decide for themselves what to do.@mesh4545

@RTP, my original toot is nothing more than a fantasy. #Trump is first and foremost a businessman, so if he launches any project (#socialmedia) he will try to make money from it. It's hard to make money on Fediverse, although it's possible.I just want more people to pay attention to #Fediverse, and Trump would be a great help with that since he is a high-profile figure.

We live in world of double standards, where some people can do certain things and others cannot and they will be condemned by politicians and other "experts" of democracy.At the moment even here (in Fediverse) I cannot freely express some things, because I'm in Ukraine, and if I criticize the current government (there are reasons for that) - high treason (hello USSR, hello naive lefties) and I will get 15 years in jail.@lyndon
