Cutting someone off is something I do with no more emotion than I feel when loading the washing machine.I can&#39;t speak for anyone else.The reason I never give second chances is that I shouldn&#39;t have to.All I require is that people not screw me over. If they can&#39;t even do THAT, they&#39;re not worth my time.I&#39;m not a nursery-school teacher.Major transgressions show that the person is not worthwhile. I&#39;ve never transgressed.If I can refrain from acting like an animal, others can too.

Personally, I&#39;m not curious about the ways people deal with things. They aren&#39;t lab rats for me to study from my lofty, amused position of superiority on all levels.My goal is to improve ME. I never question others about anything.The two best friends I ever had--the ONLY two friends I ever had--were guys who enjoyed my company and whose company I enjoyed. All we did was talk about thoughts.Never questioned each other.

My friend Nick was quadriplegic, so he had a very dark outlook on life.All I did was listen.I asked him how he FELT, not what he DID.To my shock, I just found the only photo I have of him. It&#39;s been missing since 2001.

Nick and both my parents committed suicide. Very few people can say that they knew three suicides, much less both their parents, AND that they nearly destroyed themselves trying to prevent all three suicides.So I come at life from a different perspective of being &quot;curious&quot; about other human beings.I&#39;m not cold.But also, nothing devastates me. I know for a fact that this life is one side of a door, and another plane of existence is found on the other side of the door.

Death is simply walking into another room.My goal is to arrive at the point at which I have no need to question others in a kind of philosophical dick-measuring contest.The way to do that is to listen and to reflect.My Vegas brother thinks he&#39;s a superior being. He shows it by drowning you out with questions.This distracts him from his own catastrophic failures.The show Northern Exposure was once quite brilliant.

He was known as The Flying Man, and we didn&#39;t discover until the end that he could actually fly, even though we never saw it happen.The secretary knew that he couldn&#39;t marry her, because he had to fly, so they broke up wordlessly.Great episode.I&#39;ve discovered that by listening, I don&#39;t need to question. I only question people when they make bad-faith claims meant to rile up others.I&#39;m not OPPOSED to questions.

@Mojocat I’ve been where you are now and know how deep the grief is. I think one of the hardest parts afterwards was coming home, day after day, without our little pooch to greet us. He’d been doing that for 16 years.If you’d had a magic wand to heal her, you would have. Try to remember this when you feel the guilt, which is needless.The pain will ease. @ThomasWic I loved Northern Exposure. For me, the most memorable plot line was when some of the people in town became addicted to the lights they wore on their forehead during the winter. The show was clever and different. Refreshing.
