@BenKTallmadge Solar panels and turbines are more polluting and destructive than clean fossil fuel ever thought about being. They're utterly inefficient, and dangerous to count on, as current weather situations are proving.

@Cdubois @BenKTallmadge Aaaaand you have to bury the unrecyclabe turbine blades of the wind turbines.

@Davel495 @Cdubois @BenKTallmadge As I recall the Ausies have the problem during extreme heat. turbines and solar panels just don't cut the mustard.

@Donjanusgjrdrm @Cdubois @BenKTallmadge South Australia has a lot of wind turbines and solar farms. Other states have some also, though fewer in number. Our main problems do seem more severe in Summer when everyone turns on their aircons at once. That often causes Brownouts and the occasional full scale Blackout.

@Davel495 @Cdubois @BenKTallmadge They are absolutely recyclable. Bought thousamds of tons in recent months. Trump was right years ago when he said they are rusting. The gears and motors are recyclable too.

@Davel495 Yup. I've read much about that. While about 85% of a turbine's properties are recycleable, the blades - which can be longer than the wing of a 747 - are a challenge.https://www.latimes.com/@BenKTallmadge

@BenKTallmadge Is it OK if I don't feel bad for them? They wanted the "advantages" of green energy, I hope they're enjoy it.Don't like the blackouts? Dial 1-800-CAL-GRETA

@BenKTallmadge High energy capacity should be maintained everywhere.

@Davel495 @Cdubois @BenKTallmadge The blades we buy aren't. Ton and tons of them by the truck load.

@Davel495 @WeissTexan @Cdubois @BenKTallmadge does anyone have the economics on wind turbines. Cost vs power produced vs abandonment

@Crgmllr13 @WeissTexan @Cdubois @BenKTallmadge Unfortuately I have none of that easily accessible. I may have to do some search/find. I'd like to be able to show and tell. I do know that the Big Turbine Rush of the late 80's/90's has brought an awful lot of turbines to and past their usable lifespans. I have read that timeline is approx 25 years. It is also noted the production costs and greenhouse gases of that production fail to meet the hyped buildup of the environmental benefits.
