@chriswere Nice video. LibreWolf can be a good alternative to Firefox. One thing I'd disagree with this browser is: It didn't completely remove Digital Restrictions Management(DRM).FSF approved distros like parabola and Trisquel forks firefox with Iceweasel and Abrowser which also remove telemetry and DRM but unfortuately they are only available only in the distro.Icecat is the most privacy conscious browser I've ever seen. You might want to give it a look.

@chriswereI'm kind of in two minds about it. On one hand, I like that they're not trying to "fix" every slightly controversial decision by Mozilla.On the other hand, I think, they don't change enough about Firefox. Not because I think Firefox *needs* significant changes, but because what they've changed takes me like 10 minutes to set up. And then I'd personally rather grab Firefox from my distro repository, just to stick to that trusted software source.

@friend@linuxrocks.online Yep. My thoughts exactly. I can disable telemetry and use secure searching in a standard Firefox install.

@chriswere @ChrisWere Nice video, Chris. I really like Firefox, and I think I never understood all the hype about chromium-based browsers. I'm definitely giving #LibreWolf a try in the near future. Cheers, mate!

@gadonias @chriswere @ChrisWere Sadly, Firefox for Android (the new project, "Fenix") is looking like a total train wreck. Slow loading, weirdly sluggish even in things like switching back to Firefox from another process.

@chriswere I installed the AppImageBut I can't change the settings in the browser, it says that "Your browser is being managed by your organization."

@dimitriskI like to use Fennec [https://f-droid.org/packages/org.mozilla.fennec_fdroid] as my 'Firefox for Android'. It works like a charm :)@vandys @chriswere @ChrisWere

@dimitrisk @vandys @gadonias @chriswere @ChrisWere It’s called Firefox Klar on fdroid, unless they’ve removed the app. It’s also brilliant for iOS 😄

@GlowingLanternOh nice, I used to use it, but after browser engine change, Klar had not been updated for more than a year on f-droid. But now it seems that is maintained again!@vandys @gadonias @chriswere @ChrisWere

@vandys Did you try the beta of the new Firefox version. it's a complete rewrite and it is so much faster, with a better UX and a sleek look.

@carl Yes, it's great on desktop (typing into it here). But its adaptation to Android ("Fenix") is, unfortunately, a WHOLE different story. 😪

If there were some sort of tool to automatically bring over settings, bookmarks and add-ons, I'd switch in a heartbeat.
