1 large onion1 bunch of leeks2 carrots3 cloves garlic4 small to medium sweet potatoeschicken stockCuminThyme2 pearsButter and olive oilChop onion, leeks & garlic, sautee in butter & olive oil until soft. Tip in the carrots, pears, sweet potato, stir everything and simmer for a few minutes. Add just enough water to cover the veg, stock (I used two Knorr chicken cubes), salt and pepper, a good helping of cumin and thyme, and simmer until the veg is soft.

@Mayana It's nice! I put apples in butternut soup often, but it has to be sour green apples like Granny Smiths. The sweetness of the pears in this one compliments the onions and leeks nicely ^.^

@welshpixie I suppose I can see how this might work. I just associate fruit with desserts because that's what the tradition here is, lol. Time to change that.
