When i say lighter, i mean light as a freaking html but easy to maintain for a user that doesn't know how to code html? Also, i need a platform that doesn't get me freaking 545464786 /wp-login.php attempts from NY Digital Ocean IPs, thanks!

@nitox can you move to a static site gen? They often give you the balance you need using markdown for authoring. If they're doing more full-featured page layouts, then a out-of-the-box place like wix or squarespace may be in order.

@nitox I will not lose to many words as I haven't used it yet, but if I had a need for a #CMS I would probably choose #GRAVhttps://getgrav.org/

@tomasino @nitox yep. Jekyll replaces most of my WordPress sites now. Basically no server load. No database, no MySQL running out of memory. No getting hacked from installing plugins.

@tomosaigon @nitox jekyll also offers the benefit of direct building to gh-pages. If your friend isn't a command-line person you could set them up with a decent theme and just show them how to add/edit pages in github. Committing them would auto-publish with a bit of upfront work from you.

@nitox I guess so and can relate.I am using HUGO for my personal sites but am pretty sure that's nothing for you either. The only other I can think of is Pelican:https://blog.getpelican.com/You might find something more fitting here:https://alternativeto.net/software/wordpress/

@nitox still haven't gotten around to trying this yet, but if it's about ease of use for the editor(s) of the site you might want to try WordPress with a plugin like WP2Static https://wordpress.org/plugins/static-html-output-plugin/Put the WordPress instance itself on a private server or password-protect it via htaccess and publish the result as a static site.

@nitox Maybe #Lektor is the way to go? I don't think there are many nice templates, but still. https://www.getlektor.com/
