       @solderpunk Russian commies robbed enterpreneurs Leitner&Bleikhert shortly before 1923 of latter manufacturing facilities, and used the stolen goods to "create" so-called "Харьковский велосипедный завод" or "ХВЗ". Their bicycles were mediocre, to put it mildly, already by soviet 1970-s standards.

       @drb This is indeed an XB3 chainring, or so the eBay seller alleged.  I don't expect (and certainly won't ask!) anything miraculous of it, and didn't actually go out of my way to get a Soviet 'ring.  I just wanted a 3/32" 144bcd chainring without too many teeth and this was actually the cheapest thing I found.  But I have to admit I enjoy the obscurity of it.  It's bound for a Frankenbike anyway, this just ups the geographic diversity of the components!
