@viv My reading goal for 2020 is to read and prhaps finish one book from my shelves each week. I have four No Starch Press books I've neglected for no reason other than distractedness and laziness: 2 #python books by Al Sweigart, _Wicked Cool Shell Scripts_ and _The Linux Command Line_. This is week 2: I should choose one or more.

@cosullivan Is Automating the Boring Stuff one of those books? I have the free HTML version bookmarked on my browser and plan on using that to finally learn Python properly.I read books on the Kindle, so I don't have a physical bookshelf. I do want to pick up one new fantasy series this year, and finish at least 4 more Malazan books.

@viv Yes AtBSwP is one of those. I followed the first edition with a free Udemy course. This is the 2nd edition.I'm not familiar with the Malazan series. I think my spouse has read _Moving Pictures_. I have few titles on the Kindle.

@cosullivan Malazan is an epic fantasy with so many threads, races, magic systems etc. Definitely not a light read. You should try Moving Pictures some time if you enjoy humour/satire.

@viv I much enjoy humour/satire, I'm voracious for it. Deciding which Tom Sharpe novel to use from my shelf.

@cosullivan @viv A recommendation I'd make for reading productivity is start with skimming! Just open up a book and enjoy and look around for a hook. Programming books are rarely designed to be read cover to cover!
