       @umgeher Fish shell for use, bash/sh for scripting. Though Fish shell scripting is nice, too.

       @umgeher I always script in /bin/sh, and have used OpenBSD ksh with joy, but for consistency across systems and allround greatness: zsh.

       @liebach @umgeher Isn't `/bin/sh` bash on most Linux distros? I recall Ubuntu has/had dash as `/bin/sh`?

       @ultem @umgeher It is. And on OpenBSD it is /bin/ksh, but in both cases the shells simulate a POSIX bourne shell.On Void Linux /bin/sh is dash, which is funny, because I found a bunch of my OpenBSD /bin/sh scripts breaking, because dash is stricly POSIX bourne shell, and NOTHING more than that.tl;dr: /bin/sh often isn't entirely.

       @umgeher vanilla or death. that's also the only reason I use vi/vim/vhatever as "my" shell editor; that's the one that's always there by default, so I do not bother with anything else. I used to love "ee", but that's been almost 2 decades ago.
