       @fribbledom Loosely related story. We used to have this old Siemens computer. It had a custom OS, huge memory boards, and a HP UX front end machine to control it.We had just gotten our five year maintenance done and the guy mentioned he had never seen one of those machines up for more than a thousand days before. Usually they crashed in the teens.Me: "That's because we never use it. It just says powered on and doing nothing.""Oh, that explains it."
