Did you notice how in old stories / books / fantasy, there is more variation in curses and swearwords than in today's internet conversations? Not just that, but they often have actual curses, much more elaborate than our generic f-word.

So in the spirit of @unfa 's Linux-themed swearwords, let's try to come up with Linux and computer-themed curses.I have two of them already:- May your disk heads smash the platters- go flash yourself a bad BIOS

@Wolf480pl @unfa Probably to lengthy but I like them:~ May the next OS you install ignore your wishes as to where the bootloader ought to be written.~ May all your hashes fail to match for all your downloads for the rest of your days.

@Wolf480pl @unfaEat disks.Your brain's on dial-up.Go pop a MOSFET.You're more prickly than a broken HDMI connector.Nobody thinks your PPBus is G3_Hot.I bet you bought WinRAR.Go back to chewing on your mains cable. He ate a shorted LiPo because he couldn't find any Tide pods.Hey rubber-dome, how's that lemon battery project going?Get struct, bin/sh!

@bespectacled_fuzzMost of them are insults instead of curses, which is not quite what I was looking for. But they sound good and have a nice flow to them. Also, some of them either don't make sense, or I didn't understand them.I like "pop a MOSFET", but have you ever heard of a mosfet on someone's PSU or mobo blowing up?

@Wolf480pl No, but I'm pretty sure you would if you managed to get the polarity reversed on the CPU power connector, which would be an impressive feat of ignorance, but definitely not impossible

@bespectacled_fuzzNot just ignorance, but also superhuman ability of fitting a square peg into a round hole.

@Wolf480pl Oh it's hardly superhuman. A lot of people have realized that brute force makes the immediately visible problem go away very quickly. This is not the kind of person who you let touch more delicate things. But with enough brute force and ignorance any connector will go in backwards. Half a millimeter of tapered plastic is ameatuer-level impedance.

@Wolf480pl @unfaYou are gonna hate me, but W10 isn't that bad imo. Just check your privacy settings after each update. (which is insane really)But I mainly boot windows to check if foss software runs on it. Seems quite a few devs don't have access to a windows machine. So I suffer for them :blobsweats:
