i wanted to make a bytebeat demo for zz9000 but realized the amiga is fast enough to do it alone

@mntmn That's the really cool thing about bytebeat, you can realistically run it on anythingI made a bytebeat explorer on an arduino nano (not sure how that compares to zz9000 and amiga), and the real limit was the I/O (I didn't know about bit banging yet)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kt8E3MGyByc

@gaeel cool! my test amiga runs @ 25mhz and that seems more than enough

@mntmn I mean, you need to maintain 8000 evaluations per second, which is easily in range for even really old microprocessors

@mntmn Not sure how hard it is to do, but if your formula runs in under 125 clock cycles, a Commodore PET should be able to bytebeat, lol

@mntmn I've seen people running 2 channel 22Khz 16bit bytebeat, which should be a bit more of a challenge for your Amiga, maybe?

@mntmn I suppose that would depend on how many voices you want to throw into the mix. ;)

@gaeel yeah i’d need 4 channel 8khz, but i could also do something like reverb or filter

@mntmn Convolution reverb isn't too hard to write if you want to slam a bunch of loops into the mix

@gaeel ah as i understood it’s basically just multiplication with the room sound (impulse response)?

@mntmn Yeah, it's that simple
